Disc Granulator: The "Shaping Master" of Fertilizer Granules?

2025/09/19

In the crucial step of fertilizer granulation, the  disc granulator acts like a skilled "shaping master." Its unique disc structure precisely shapes powdered raw materials into smooth, uniform granules, making it an indispensable core piece of equipment in the production of organic and compound fertilizers. Its working principle is deceptively simple yet ingenious. As the disc, with an adjustable tilt angle, rotates at high speed, the raw materials, under the combined effects of centrifugal force, gravity, and friction, continuously roll and agglomerate, gradually transforming from fine powder into particles with a diameter of 2-5 mm. This entire process requires no complex binders, relying solely on the raw materials' inherent properties to complete the formation process, reducing costs while ensuring the purity of the fertilizer.

The advantages of this   fertilizer equipment are evident in the details. The disc is made of wear-resistant stainless steel, with a smooth inner wall that is not easy to stick to materials. It not only extends its service life, but also reduces the waste of raw materials and is very convenient to clean. Its tilt angle can be flexibly adjusted between 30°-50°, and with the adjustable speed (usually 15-30 rpm), it can accurately control the particle size and density to meet the needs of different fertilizers. For example, when producing organic fertilizers, the speed is slowed down to ensure that the particles are loose and breathable, and when producing compound fertilizers, the speed is increased to increase the hardness of the particles. At the same time, the feed port of the disc granulator is equipped with a uniform distribution device to avoid uneven granulation caused by the accumulation of raw materials, ensuring that each grain of fertilizer has a consistent shape.

The disc granulator is also very adaptable. Whether it is processing organic raw materials from fermented livestock and poultry manure or raw materials for uniformly mixed nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizers, it can operate stably. The equipment is relatively compact and occupies a small area, making it suitable for small and medium-sized fertilizer plants or farm production lines. The operation is even simpler. The speed, angle and   feed rate can be adjusted through the control panel, and daily operations can be completed by one person.
